Siwe Stawki

Siwe Stawki – two picturesque lakes located in the Pyszniańska Valley in the Western Tatra Mountains. Hidden within the Siwa Kotlinka Valley, these are post-glacial meltwater lakes formed during the retreat of the ice sheet. They are characterized by warm water and variable water levels. They have neither inflow nor outflow. They are clearly visible from the trail through Siwa Pass. The area around the ponds is slowly changing, with dwarf pine gradually obscuring the lakes.
