Wał Przymorski Dune (Prince Albrecht Hill)

Wał Przymorski Dune (Prince Albrecht Hill) – a dune 33 m high on the Vistula Spit. It is located on the right side of the Vistula Mouth in the village of Mikoszewo. The dune runs latitudinally for approximately 600 meters. The southern slopes descend steeply to Mikoszewo, while the northern slopes gently merge into the coastal strip.

The dune is covered with spruce forest with a scattering of birch on the northern side. The summit offers no views. It can be reached via paths marked on the map.

The dune was named Prince Albrecht Hill in memory of the visit of Prince Albrecht of Prussia on August 30, 1896, after the Vistula Canal had been completed. In 1909, a staircase of approximately 100 steps was built and a memorial stone was placed with the inscription “Prince Albrecht Hill. August 30, 1896.” In the early 1960s, the stairs were dismantled, and the stone from the top was moved to Mikoszewo and mounted on a plinth near the fire station.
