Region: Kraków Submontane Region

Kraków Submontane Region – a physical and geographic mesoregion that is part of the Sandomierz Basin. It stretches from Skawina in the west to Szarów and Gdów in the east. From the north it borders with the Krakowskie Pier, the Vistula Lowlands and Podgórze Bocheński, and from the south with the Wieliczka Foothills. Krakow Podgórze, just like the Krakow Bridge, is of a temporary nature. It is made up of a strip of wide humps and hills, sometimes exceeding a height of 300 m a.s.l. (culmination at Fort Rajsko – 349 m a.s.l.), strongly fragmented by a network of river valleys, constantly and occasionally drained.
