Region: Choč Mountains

Choč Mountains – a mountain range in the Central Western Carpathians, located entirely in Slovakia. It has the form of a strip stretching from east to west, about 18 km long and 4 to 8 km wide. It borders from the north with the Orava Foothills, from the east through the Kvačianska Valley with the Western Tatras, from the south with the Liptovska Basin, and from the west by the Brestová Pass with the Šípska Fatra, which is the northernmost part of the Great Fatra. The highest peak is Veľký Choč (1611 m a.s.l.).
