Tag - Brusek Mountain
Brusek Mountain – a peak at 1115 meters above sea level in the Złote Mountains, in the Eastern Sudetes. It is located on the Polish-Czech border. It is the second-highest peak in the Polish part of the Złote Mountains. To the east, it borders Smrek Peak, to the southwest, via the Bielskie Siodło Pass, it borders Postawna Peak. The southeastern slopes descend into the Branná Stream valley, and the northern slopes descend to the Biały Spław Stream, one of the two headwaters of the Biała Lądecka River. North of the peak lies Przełęcz u Trzech Granic (Three Borders Pass), which owes its name to the historic intersection of the borders of Silesia, Moravia, and the Kłodzko Region.
The peak takes the form of an elongated, flat mound with a rocky, steeply sloping western slope and an almost flat, gently sloping northeastern slope. It is composed of metamorphic rocks, mica schists, and Gierałtów gneisses, with quartzites at the peak. The summit is exposed, offering a wide view of the Złote Mountains, the Śnieżnik Massif, and the Jeseníky Mountains.
The summit is surrounded by stunted remnants of the original spruce forest, with some rowan. The upper slopes are covered with spruce forest in the upper montane zone, while the lower slopes are mostly covered with natural forest in the lower montane zone.
No marked hiking trails cross the summit.
