Tag - Čuboňov Mountain

Čuboňov – a peak at 1014 meters above sea level in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids in the Poloms Range on the border between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. To the north, it borders Malý Polom, a deeply indented pass, and to the east, Burkův vrch. On the steep, northeastern slopes lie the sources of the Łomná stream, a tributary of the Olza River in the Baltic Sea basin. On the western slopes lie the sources of the Predmieranka stream, and on the southern slopes, the Olešnianka stream, tributaries of the Kysuca River in the Black Sea basin.

The summit is flat, covered with a lower montane mixed forest, dominated by spruce and beech, with some fir. Currently, the spruce trees have been attacked by the bark beetle, causing their mass withering. The Malý Polom Nature Reserve has been established on the western slopes.

A marked path along the Czech-Slovak border leads to the summit. The red hiking trail traverses the summit from the east, while the blue hiking trail skirts the summit from the south.
