Tag - Głowa Słonia Rock
Głowa Słonia Rock – a rock on the Tenczynek Hills, on the eastern slopes of Zachruście Hill, which descend into the Aleksandrowice Valley. To the north, it borders the Krzywy Sąd Rock. It is composed of hard, rocky limestone from the Late Jurassic period. It was formed 140 million years ago on the seabed from the skeletons of cyanobacteria and sponges.
Głowa Słonia Rock is 12 meters high. Rock climbing is practiced on its northern and northeastern vertical or overhanging walls. Seven climbing routes of varying difficulty have been designated here.
The rock is located within the Tenczyński Landscape Park. The “Aleksandowice Valley” hiking and educational trail runs alongside the rock.
