Jaworzyna Kamienicka Glade – a glade on the northeastern slopes of Jaworzyna Kamienicka Mountain in the Gorce Mountains. It stretches at an elevation of 1190–1265 m a.s.l. It is considered one of the most beautiful glades in the Gorce Mountains. It offers views of the nearby peaks of Kudłoń, Gorc Troszacki, and Gorc, below them the Kamienica Valley, and in the distance, the peaks of the Wyspowy Beskid and the Sącz Beskid Mountains can be seen.
This former shepherd’s glade was once part of Ochotnica, but in the 17th century it became the property of the Kamienica estate. Before World War I, Tomasz Chlipała, known as Bulanda, was a farmer here. He was one of the most famous shepherds in the Gorce Mountains. In 1904, he built a chapel named after him on the upper edge of the glade. Bulanda lived in the glade and for over 50 years was engaged in sheep farming and cheese production. Local legend has it that he lived to be 100 years old in the meadow, and the secret to his vitality was a homemade, miraculous potion of happiness and longevity. He died in 1931.
The glade is home to many interesting plant species: a viviparous form of alpine meadowgrass, mountain avens, and Carpathian snowberry. Birds of interest include the water pipit, hazel grouse, and even the capercaillie. After grazing ceased, the clearing began to overgrow with blueberry and raspberry fields and isolated trees. To preserve its valuable biodiversity, the Gorce National Park implemented regular mowing as part of its non-forest ecosystem protection program.
The glade is crossed by the green Grywałd – Gabrowska Glade hiking trail, the red Świętaówka – Zbójecka Jama hiking trail, and the green-marked “From Turbacz to Jaworzyna Kamienicka” educational trail.
