Tag - Keprník Massif
Keprník Massif – a mountain range within the High Ash Mountains, in the Eastern Sudetes. It is bordered to the northwest by the Rychlebské Mountains, to the southeast by the Pradědská hornatina (Praděd Mountains), to the east and north by the Zlatohorská vrchovina, and to the west and south by the Hanušovická vrchovina.
It is one of three microregions of the High Ash Mountains, with an average elevation of 895.5 meters above sea level, and the highest peak is Keprník. It is separated from the Praděd Massif by the Červenohorské sedlo Pass, and from the Golden Mountains and the Hanušovická vrchovina Mountains by the Ramzovské sedlo Pass.
The Keprník Massif consists of a main ridge running from Červenohorské sedlo Pass to Ramzovská Pass, three side arms with the main peaks: Vozka, Černá stráň, and Šindelná hora, and the Ucháč Mountain massif beyond Přemyslovské sedlo Pass.
Geologically, the Keprník Massif is composed of metamorphic rocks, primarily gneisses, orthogneisses, migmatites, mica schists, amphibolites, phyllites, marbles, and others.
