Tag - Kondratowa Glade

Kondratowa Glade – a glade located at an altitude of approx. 1300–1370 m a.s.l. in the central part of the Kondratowa Valley in the Western Tatras. It was formed at the bottom of a moraine pond that was formed in a glacial cirque. It used to be mowed, and was part of Hala Kondratowa. There were huts, sheds and a shepherd’s hut there. After grazing ceased, the clearing was gradually overgrown by forest.

The glade houses the PTTK Shelter on Hala Kondratowa. It is the smallest of the Tatra shelters in the Polish part of the Tatras. Next to it, there are several huge boulders on the clearing. They come from a rock avalanche that fell from the slopes of Długi Giewont in 1953.
