Tag - Koskowa Góra Range
Koskowa Góra Range – the largest mountain range in the Makowski Beskid. The highest peak is Koskowa Góra (866 m).
The Koskowa Góra Range stretches from the Skawa Valley between Sucha Beskidzka and Zembrzyce in the west to the Raba Valley between Pcim and Stróża in the east. The north-western borders of the range are formed by the Paleczka Valley, its tributary Jachówka, and Trzebuńka. It is separated from the Babica Range on the northern side by the Szklarska Pass. The southern and south-eastern borders are formed by the Jastrzębnik, Łętówka (Skomielczanka) and Krzczonówka streams.
The Koskowa Góra Range is divided into three parts. The eastern part stretches from the Raba Valley to the Bogdanówka Valley and includes the Kotoń and Parszywka massifs. The western part stretching from the Bogdanówka, Łętówka and Wieprzczanka (Wieprzca) valleys to the Skawa and Paleczka valleys includes the range from Koskowa Góra in the east to Mioduszyna in the west and the Adamówka nest. The southern part from the Wieprzczanka and Łętówka valleys to the Skawa and the Jastrzębnik stream includes the Stołowa Góra and Przykca massifs.
The ridges of the Koskowa Góra Range are made of weathering-resistant Magura sandstones, under which there are softer shales. Shale complexes are also exposed in some places, especially in the pass areas. The ridges are mostly forested, but the fields and buildings of the towns almost reach the very peaks.
