Tag - Łonna Glade
Łonna Glade – a small glade in the Gorce Mountains located on the northern slopes of the Jaszcze Stream Valley. In its western corner there is a typical hut for the old local architecture, covered with planks. It was still mowed and grazed long after World War II, and is currently located in the Gorce National Park and has been excluded from economic use. In order to prevent unwanted overgrowth by the forest and reduction of biodiversity, it is mowed, leaving the mowed grass on the glade. The glade contains valuable plant communities, including fragments of a thistle meadow and several protected species of orchids. In order to provide amphibians with the necessary breeding places, small water reservoirs are made on the edges of the glade.
The green-marked educational trail “Jaszcze Stream Valley” leads through the pass.
