Tag - Obří Skály

Obří Skály – a rock group at an altitude of 1088 m a.s.l. on the northwest ridge extending from Šerák Peak, in the High Ash Mountains, in the Eastern Sudetes. It is approximately 470 m long and 10-16 m high. Slightly below the rocks, at an altitude of 1084 m a.s.l., stands the peak of the same name. The Obří Skály rock group is easily recognizable from a distance, resembling a distinctive “tooth” protruding from the slope of Šerák Mountain.

The rocks are composed of staurolithic rock, whose weathering has created interesting shapes: rock mushrooms, grooves and covers, and a rock window.

There are two hiking trails near the rocks: the blue-marked Lipová-lázně – Filipovice trail and the green-marked Ramzová – Obří skály trail.
