Romanka Reserve – a forest nature reserve in the Żywiec-Orawa Beskid Mountains. Established in 1963 in the Romanka summit area, it was established to preserve the original fragment of the former Carpathian primeval forest in the form of an upper montane spruce forest.

The reserve encompasses the Romanka summit area, at elevations ranging from 1,150 m to 1,366 m. Numerous forest communities have been identified within the reserve: the upper montane spruce forest (Plagiothecio-Piceetum tatricum), the lower montane fir-spruce forest (Abieti-Piceetum montanum), the acidophilous mountain beech forest (Luzolo luzuloidis-Fagetum), and non-forest communities. The undergrowth layer contains numerous protected plants: green hellebore (Veratrum lobelianum), mountain fern (Doronicum austriacum), common fern (Polypodium vulgare), ribbed fern (Blechnum spicant), daphne (Daphne mezereum), juniper clubmoss (Lycopodium annotinum), and fir clubmoss (Huperzia selago).

The oldest spruce trees in the reserve reach 250 to even 300 years of age. They branch almost from the ground. They are accompanied by ferns over 1.5 meters tall. In the lower reaches of the reserve, fragments of beech and fir stands appear as stunted trees.
