Tag - Rusinowa Glade
Rusinowa Glade – a glade in the Reglowe Tatra Mountains in Poland. It is located on the eastern slopes of Gęsia Szyja at an altitude of about 1180–1300 m a.s.l. Its total area is currently about 20 ha. To the north it descends to Złoty Potok and to the south to the Waksundzka Valley. To the east it borders Goły Wierch.
During the penultimate glaciation, the glacier from the Waksmundzka Valley passed through Rusinowa Polana, leaving granite blocks on it. The work of the glacier is also a clear undercutting of the slope at the lower edge of the clearing.
In the past, the clearing was part of Hala Jaworzyna Rusinowa with a total area of about 1.2 km² (the rest was forest and glades). This clearing has long been a place of grazing for sheep and cows. Part of the glade was mowed, but the hay was not brought to the village, but fed to sheep on site for the winter. The settlement on Rusinowa was therefore partly inhabited all year round and it was the longest existing wintering ground for sheep in the Tatras.
Two popular hiking trails intersect on Rusinowa Glade: the blue Zazadnia – Palenica Białczańska and the green Wierch Połoniec – Murowaniec. The glade offers a wide view of the Bielskie Tatras and the High Tatras.
