Tag - Sedlo pod Keprníkem Pass

Sedlo pod Keprníkem – a mountain pass at an elevation of 1282 meters a.s.l. in the Keprník Massif, in the High Ash Mountains, in the Eastern Sudetes. It separates Keprník Peak in the south from Šerák Peak in the north. The eastern slopes of the pass descend into the Keprnický Potok valley, while the western slopes descend into the Klepáčský Potok valley.

The pass area is forested with upper montane spruce forest and offers no views. The pass is located within a protected area called the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Jeseníky), which includes the oldest national nature reserve in Moravia, Šerák-Keprník, established in 1903 with an area of ​​approximately 1,174 hectares to protect rock, earth, and plant formations, as well as rare animal species.

The pass is the intersection of the red-marked Rýmařov – Nad Boudou hiking trail and the blue-marked Lipová-lázně – Filipovice hiking trail.
