Tag - Pewel Range

Pewel Range – a mountain range in the southern part of the Pewel-Krzeczów Ranges. On the eastern side it borders the Żurawnica Group. From the north it borders the Mały Beskid Mountains, from the south it borders the Żywiec-Orawa Beskid Mountains. From the west it descends to Żywiec Lake and the Koszarawa River. The range is about 15 km long. The highest peak is Bąków (766 m a.s.l.).

The southeastern slopes of the range descend to the Pewlica and Lachówka valleys, the northwestern ones to the Żywiec Basin and the Łękawka valley. The valleys of these rivers and streams completely separate the Pewel Range from the neighboring mountain ranges, only through the Hucisko Pass it connects with the Laskowski Range.

The northern slopes are mostly covered with mixed forest, in place of former arable fields. The southern slopes are occupied by meadows and arable fields. The buildings approach relatively high up to the ridge of the range. On the southern side, in many places, views of the Żwywiec-Orawa Beskid Mountains are revealed.

A yellow tourist trail Jeleśnia – Gachowizna runs along the ridge of the range, and a blue tourist trail Hucisko – Madohora runs through the peak of Baków Groń (Gachowizna).
